The Lost One
I was but a lowly vessel;
Lost in the treacherous sea of sin:
So confused, and tossed within.
Each day, huge waves of bitterness, I did wrestle.
My deck was ever overflowing:
I could not see the way;
From Your Lighthouse, I had drifted away:
I knew not where I was going.
My hull was constantly swaying:
My life preservers, did disappear.
The winds so fierce, I could not steer:
All hope was gone; my ropes were fraying.
I knew not, what I should do.
I looked up to the darkened sky;
With all my suffering; I wondered why.
So I shouted, and I called upon You.
My Lord; my Captain: I know
You've not abandoned me.
Take my helm, I humbly pray;
For I'm weak, and I can't stay afloat another
day.
From this sea of sin, I pray You'd set me free.
Father, for all my sins forgive
me,
And cast them astern forevermore.
Anchor me in Your Steadfast Love; my faith to
ever restore.
May I always serve, and live for Thee.
Thank You God, for rescuing
me,
For once I was lost, but now I'm found;
I know where I'm going: I'm heaven bound:
One day at a time, upon bended knee.
... Are you lost? Have you
gone astray?
Is your life's deck ever overflowing?
Are you sinking? Do you know where you are going?
Won't you let Jesus be YOUR Life Preserver today?...
